About this list
Marker Learning conducts research with partner institutions using data collected in its research studies. As partnerships change over time, our participant consent form does not name individual partners. Instead, it points to this page, which lists every institution currently receiving research data and is updated whenever a partner is added or removed.
This page carries a “last updated” date above. We keep a dated copy of each version. If you took part in a study and want to know which partners were listed on the date you gave consent, contact us and we will provide that version. You may also ask us for a copy of the current list at any time by writing to hello@markerlearning.com.
Who can be a partner
We share research data only with accredited colleges and universities, academic medical centers, and nonprofit research organizations conducting approved research in education, psychology, assessment, or the learning sciences. We do not share research data with advertisers, data brokers, marketing companies, insurers, employers, or schools or districts about their own students.

What partners receive
Partners normally receive coded research data only. That includes item responses, response process data, scores, model output, and coarsened background information, together with drawing and tracing work that contains no written words, no name, and no other identifying information. Partners do not receive participant names, contact details, dates of birth, home addresses, school or district names, or device identifiers, and they do not receive self-reported disability or diagnostic information in the form a participant gave it to us.
Original audio recordings, video recordings, and images of handwritten work are shared only where the participant, or the participant’s parent or legal guardian, has given separate written permission for that specific sharing.
What every partner must agree to
Before receiving any data, every partner signs a data use agreement requiring it to:
- use the data only for the specific approved research described in the agreement;
- make no attempt to re-identify any participant and no attempt to contact any participant;
- not pass the data on to anyone else without our written permission;
- protect the data with specified security measures;
- obtain research ethics board approval or a documented exemption before beginning;
- derive no voiceprint, speaker embedding, face template, or other biometric identifier from any file;
- return or destroy the data when the research is finished and certify that destruction; and
- never sell the data or use it for advertising.
We may terminate the agreement and require deletion if a partner does not follow these terms.
